Online MBA Degree Program-Duke University
In 1924, James Buchanan Duke created Duke University in memory of his late father Washington Duke. It is a private research university located in Durham, North Carolina, United States. With an accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, it offers baccalaureate, masters, doctorate, and professional degrees.
Duke’s business school was formed in 1969, with Thomas F. Keller, an alumnus, as the dean. He embarked on a fund raising campaign in 1978 to erect a building, increase the number of MBA students and faculty positions. About forty-two per cent of the funds raised came from businessperson and philanthropist J.B. Fuqua, so the school was renamed The Fuqua School of Business.
In 2008, Fuqua initiated an expansion project in St. Petersburg, Russia; Dubai, UAE; Shanghai, China; New Delhi, India; and London, UK. All of which will start serving students in August 2009. Since many people now prefer online MBA Degree Programs, Fuqua offers the Global Executive MBA. It allows participants to live and work anywhere in the world while pursuing a Master’s Degree. Intended for executives with an average of 14 years experience and global responsibilities, it combines classroom teaching with Internet-enabled distance learning to enhance understanding of global business
Additionally, Fuqua offers The Duke MBA-Cross Continent at its main campus in the United States. The re-designed and expanded program will also be available at Duke’s new international locations in 2009. It builds global awareness and competence through unique residential sessions, Internet-enabled distance learning, and weekly virtual classroom sessions.
